Why Lake Norman Custom Solutions Make Sense

A custom Lake Norman garage build is fundamentally different from an inland Charlotte build. We specify polyaspartic topcoats over polyurea bases for UV and water resistance. Heat-fused melamine cabinet boxes for humidity stability. Hardware in corrosion-rated finishes. Overhead rack systems sized to seasonal lake gear. The Lake Norman shoreline spans Cornelius, Davidson, Huntersville, Mooresville, Sherrills Ford, Denver, and Catawba, and we work all of it on a weekly route.

Lake Norman Garage Storage Questions

What makes a custom Lake Norman build different from a standard inland install?
Three things: floor coating chemistry, cabinet finish selection, and storage layout. We specify polyaspartic topcoats for UV and water resistance, recommend solid-color or metal-pattern cabinet finishes for humidity stability, and design overhead racks sized to off-season lake gear (life jackets, water skis, kayak paddles, trolling motors).
Can you handle a four-bay garage with a dedicated workshop and golf cart bay?
Yes. Larger Lake Norman garages often include a workshop bay or a separate cart bay. We design each bay independently: the workshop gets cabinet runs plus slatwall, the cart bay gets accessory storage and a small cabinet bank, and the boat bay stays open with overhead racks above. The 3D rendering shows all four bays in one view.
Do you coordinate with the dock and boat lift contractor?
We do not install docks or boat lifts directly. We coordinate scheduling so the garage work and the dock work do not stack on top of each other. Most Lake Norman clients bundle a garage refresh with annual dock maintenance in the spring or fall shoulder seasons.
Can the cabinetry hold a wet trolling motor or charging system?
Yes, with the right cabinet selection. We recommend a dedicated trolling motor cabinet with a full-back panel, drain channel, and a power outlet routed to the back. The cabinet box itself is heat-fused melamine and tolerates the wet load. We coordinate the outlet placement with your electrician during the design phase.
How long does a full custom Lake Norman build take?
Custom Lake Norman builds run six to eight weeks from consultation to final walkthrough. The longer timeline accounts for a more detailed 3D rendering process, finish sample matching, and multi-bay coordination. On-site installation is typically two to three days.
Do you serve year-round or only in the boating off-season?
Year-round. Most clients prefer to schedule the floor coating in the boating off-season (November through February) when the boat is stored. Cabinet and storage installation can happen any time of year, including peak summer.
