How much weight can the shelves hold?
Each four-foot shelf section supports up to 1,000 lb. The system uses heavy-gauge steel with full wall mounting through studs. Heavier loads can be distributed across multiple shelf brackets without sacrificing the rest of the layout.
What is the difference between shelves and slatwall?
Shelves give you a horizontal surface for boxes, bins, and stacked items. Slatwall gives you a vertical hanging surface for tools and gear. Most Charlotte garages use both: shelves above the workbench for paint cans and bins, slatwall over the workbench itself for hand tools, and the Monkey Bars hooks below each shelf for long-handled equipment.
Can the shelves be installed over windows or garage doors?
Yes. We carry inverted shelves in 24" and 32" sizes specifically designed to mount over windows and garage door openings. They use the dead space above those openings without interfering with door travel or window access.
Will the shelves work with my existing garage cabinets?
Yes. Designer Series finishes coordinate directly with our garage cabinet finishes, so the system reads as one continuous installation rather than a wall of mismatched parts. We can also work around existing cabinetry if you only need shelving on certain walls.
Are the shelves adjustable after installation?
